We understand there are a variety of factors that lead to a family's decision to relinquish ownership of their pet, but their inability to purchase food for their pet should not be one of them. To that end we operate a pet food pantry at the shelter and donate pet food to the Peas & Grace food pantry at Grace Episcopal in The Plains.

 

We distributed 2,539 pounds of pet food in 2022 through these locations. This program is possible through generous donations of food from MARS PetCare and community partners such as Giant (Haymarket) and Tractor Supply Company (Marshall), who collect pet food on our behalf.
