Pet Food Pantry

Pet Nutrition.jpg

We believe that in most instances, the best home for a pet is the one in which they already live. To help keep pets with their families, MHF operates a pet food pantry at the shelter that distributes cat and dog food to families who need assistance. We distributed 2,539 pounds of pet food in 2022 through the food pantry at the shelter and at Grace Episcopal in The Plains. The shelter's food pantry helped feed 256 cats and dogs in Fauquier, Clarke, Loudoun and Warren counties.

The pantry is stocked through generous donations from individuals and local businesses, and grant funding. Please help us keep the shelves stocked (and pets out of the shelter) by making a donation to our food assistance program
